PMC Matrix Polymers
Polymer Matrix Composites are used in a variety of applications where lightweight, strength, and cost effectiveness are important issues. As technology improves, the need for structural parts that operate at higher temperatures increases. Unfortunately, conventional PMCs, which are based on organic resin systems, fail to provide the thermal resistance needed in most applications. KDT offers a solution to this problem with its organopolysilazane resins. When combined with traditional PMC matrix resins (epoxy, urethanes, etc.) polysilazanes increase the thermal stability of the composite while maintaining the strength, modulus, and toughness afforded by the organic resin.
