TRANSPORTATION

Within the transportation industry KDT provides materials that are used for two primary purposes - as precursors to structural ceramics (CMCs, PMCs, etc.) and as resins for high temperature, corrosion resistant coatings.  These materials are designed to offer high performance under extreme conditions.  KDT’s primary focus in the transportation industry is to provide materials for U.S. Military and Defense related applications.  These materials are used in a variety of applications where there is a need to reduce weight and cost and to increase thermal stability and corrosion resistance.  Representative examples of applications include structural components for aircraft and vehicles, high temperature ceramic coatings for exhaust and other engine components, coatings for turbine engines, non-burning structures for aircraft interiors, and hydrophobic glass and polycarbonate coatings.
