KiON Defense Technologies plays a key role in supplying advanced polymer resins to the aerospace industry.  KDT products can be used in a wide variety of applications within the aerospace sector as high performance materials that are cost-effective.  KDT continually works closely with customers in developing the next generation of aircraft by providing materials solutions designed to meet the growing performance demands of the industry.

KDT polymers are capable of operating at very high temperatures while maintaining their mechanical properties.  In applications where high temperatures are realized, KDT polymers do not decompose like traditional organic or silicone-based resins, but rather undergo a high temperature condensation process that converts the polymers to ceramic.   KDT provides polymers that can be utilized in CMC applications either as a ceramic matrix resin or as a ceramic fiber precursor.  In addition, KDT offers several resin systems that give corrosion resistance and thermal stability when formulated as a high temperature ceramic coating systems.  These resins adhere to a variety of substrates, including ferrous and non-ferrous substrates, metal alloys, and composite materials to provide thermal insulation and improve efficiency.
